ABOUT POTENTE

Potente, the upscale, Italian restaurant from Houston Astros-Owner Jim Crane, is located in downtown Houston across the street from Minute Maid Park and next door to the more casual trattoria, Osso & Kristalla.

It’s fitting to have the restaurants so close to where the Houston Astros play, since baseball is the great family pastime as much as gathering around the table is to enjoy a meal. In keeping with the importance of family, Mr. Crane named the restaurants after his three children.

The sophisticated Italian restaurant is a dining experience like no other in Houston. The romantic, yet modern, interior is evocative of an Italian Villa with a twist, featuring a spacious bar alongside the main dining space.

Potente has been listed as “One of the Most Romantic Restaurants in Houston” by Eater Houston,  the Houstonia and  Thrillist, as well as one of the “Best Date Night Spots” by the Houston Chronicle.

The menu features daily seafood selections, homemade pastas and USDA steaks. In November 2020, Potente’s truffle pasta was featured as “One of the Best Pastas in the Country” by the Food Network.

The restaurant’s extensive wine list features a large selection of Italian wines, as well as a section of California’s finest vintners.

Potente boasts one of the best Happy Hour menus in downtown Houston. Enjoy specially priced food and drink options in our bar.

Host your next Private Event in one of the three private spaces, which feature custom chandeliers, window pieces and high-back tufted furniture designed to create a comfortable yet sophisticated lounge environment.

Join us before your next Houston Astros game at Minute Maid Park, for a business meeting downtown or a romantic dinner soon.
